1992 CBR250RR water pump probs

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by crooky88, Feb 24, 2008.

  1. Looking for info about bike over heating and repair and replace a water pump on above bike, seems to get real hot and boli after a few km's travelling
want to repair or replace water pump before I go to teh next stage

any advice on how to do this?
looking for online workshop manual also?

    Thanks in advance
  2. Is there a sign of the water pump leaking?

If not they don't actually "fail" as such. It should just be a basic impellor design that either works or doesn't. It would need something major to go wrong to stop pumping water around...

Is there any coolant leakage anywhere? That reduces the pressure of the system, which lowers the boiling point.

Is the radiator up to the top, with a correctly-filled coolant tank and the line from the rad to the tank also full of coolant?

Is the radiator cap working correctly, with no sign of the rubber parts which do the sealing perishing?

If the system is boiling is it also overflowing somewhere?

    All the best
