08 GSX-R 750 fuel pump issues

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by fab, Nov 7, 2011.

  1. The Fuel pump started making a high pitched noise today. Taking it past the bike shop they said its most likely the fuel pump. I was going to change it until I heard the price ~$800 part only.

Looking at it parted out I see fuel strainers and filters. Is it worth first trying to clean these out? Or should I just get another one?

    Bike has done almost 40000kms

Also, anybody know where I can source a cheaper new or slightly used? Besides eBay? :)
  2. VicWreck in Heielberg do second hand parts for most Japanese bikes. Worth giving them a call and see what they can suggest.

You could also try searching parts on the web. No idea about GSXs but I have got parts for my bike out of UK in about a week and saving about 50%. At the current exchange rates US could be cheap.
