Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' at netrider.net.au started by blade, Apr 14, 2006.

  1. Hi folks
On Wednesday i took the new fireblade out for a test ride.
I currently own a 2004 blade which i bought brand new when it
    was first released.
The 06 blade ride position is the same, they have changed some
of the switches as in headlights and they have added hazard
    lights to it. :?
The first time i grabbed the front brakes i nearly went arse over tit,
the stopping power of the new brakes is awesome,it took me 3-4
goes before i got use to them.
The engine sounds awesome when you give it gas, it has a real
Low down the bike has heaps more torque, very easy to get
the front wheel up  .
When taking the bike out i told the guys it WONT be a 5 min ride.
Took it up Dandy mountian thru to Gembrook then my favourite rd
    up to Woori yallock.
The bike pulls out of corners extremely well ,it's a lot more
agressive than my o4. But i think thats got something to do
with the rear sprocket, they have gone from a 42 to a 43 teeth.
The handling is as always excellent :) you can not fault the Blade
    with handling.
Overall the bike is pretty impressive :)
Now all i have to do is road test the o6 Gixxer 1000

    Hakin
