03 R6 54k Service Cost

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by chiefy, Oct 26, 2010.

  1. Was quoted $660 for a 54,000km 2003 R6 service, was told need new chain sprockets etc so would end up costing around $1k maybe more.

    Does that sound about right?

  2. I should also point out that at 48,000 it did not have a major service.
  3. Do the research yourself mate...come on.

    1) Obtain a service interval guide or better yet a service manual
    2) List here what needs to be done. Someone will tell you the hours required.
    3) Go and price up the parts. Source them overseas. Heck even take the parts in and get them to fit it all...

$340 for chain & sprocket sounds a bit over priced.
