Strangely, I spent more time in Taiwan than any other country in 2013. I say strangely, because that is something I never would have predicted.
Like Korea, it has aspect of both China and Japan about it, but it leans more towards China. It’s a little disorganized, but not as much as China itself, and fun. Despite my numerous visits, I didn’t get a lot of personal time. So I can’t comment too much as a tourist destination. It’s another good nation for food, which is pretty close to the cuisine of mainland China. The people are friendly enough, but not like Vietnam and Cambodia. It’s more like you would expect in the West. It’s a safe enough place, like Western cities.
