Porcupine Gorge - Cairns

  1. Day 6 (Mon): Porcupine Gorge Nat Pk to Undarra Lava Tubes. 328km.
After a morning hike & dip at the bottom of the gorge, I packed up camp and got away about 10:30am. 200km of dirt north to the Oasis Roadhouse (at The Lind), I had a fantastic Pork and Gravy roll, while chatting with 3 other riders heading South West to the Off-Centre-Rally at Mungarinne on the Birdsville Track.

I had a 'milestone' event, that had me thinking about home...lol
128km to the Undarra Lava Tubes campground, where I booked a tour for tomorrow.
The campground had a bar/restaurant set up made from old railway carriages.
Accommodation for all levels of glamping.

Day 7 (Tues): Undarra to Cairns. 262km
After the morning tour of the Lava Tubes, I heading North to Mount Garnett, where I had a massive burger for lunch, and a discussion with a local about a dirt road over to Herberton, which I was warned off.
    So I took it anyhow.

Day 8 (Wed): REST DAY in Cairns.
a day of bike maintenance. Resupply of food. Do some washing. Look around Cairns.
And waiting for a mate from Wagga to arrive, for the journey north to the tip of Cape York.
