  1. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

    Rating:
    5/5,
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Motorcycle Sportsmen of Qld)

This time it was my turn (as well as miicah) to take a back seat (or I should say, no seat at all) of the bike and become pit crew and groupie to the racing league of extraordinary gentlemen; The Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland (Round 5). Saturday 12 till Sunday 13th Nov, full days racing including camping AT the bike sheds.

Again the first thing that struck me was the sheer amount of stuff one need to go racing, but...
  2. Lawnmower Attacks the Track

Ladies Day at Morgan Park, Warick.
First official track day for the lawnmower AND (as if ticking one thing off your bucket list wasn’t enough), thrown in a 2nd one with the try out at being a co-pilot baggage on a racing side cart! And I thought riding a motorbike at full pelt was nuts enough; that was a new level of ‘crazy’! :wacky:

I’m not sure where to even start this entry coherently, for I’m still even processing feelings, learnings and internal processes for the day. It amazes me...
  3. If you don't ask, you don't get ...

So after the Ride-Tek day I waited excitedly to see a photo - proof I had actually pushed myself and done it :) Photos posted, I searched through them and not a single photo :( I decided to email the photographer - no harm in asking I thought. He wrote back that he didn't think he had any but promised he would have a look - despite being away on holiday, what a champion! Lo and Behold a few days later he had found a couple and sent them to me, apologising for the quality. I was so excited -...
  4. Rider Training at Sandown Racecourse with Ride-Tek MTA

Well, took myself off today to Sandown Raceway in Noble Park for Advanced Road Rider Training.

Up way to early for a Saturday to be out the door at 7:30am, ready for scrutineering at 8:30am

Cloudy and overcast, but the weather gods where on our side, and no rain was seen or felt.

Maybe 35 odd participants, probably 40% women, one chick on a Busa 1300 even. But she was'nt pushing the 'busa anywhere near its potential. Age range from 18 to almost 80 I reckon. Ave probably in the 30 - 40...
  5. If you know anyone looking for a great track bike ...

A friend has received sad news that he can no longer ride for quite some time due to injury and is regrettably selling his beloved track bike ... I said I would share it here in case there was anyone looking. I am very disappointed as he was going to be my coach at Broadford in the future (it's what he does) but, more than that, I want to help if I can as he is finding it difficult to see his love every day and know he can't ride ... this is his ad on Victorian Motorcycle Market. If you...
