For those that don't know me, I travel a lot for work, and take on a lot of short-term contracts that don't allow for planning leave with any degree of predictability. As a result, even occasionally working in Melbourne at the right time I have never made it to the MotoGP. I would have killed to see Casey, Chris V and Westy ... even back to Troy going around their home loop, but it...
Well better late then never aye! The initial convo with damedi went something like this:
'What you up to during Chrissy and New Year bud?' 'Bugger all, what about you?'
'Yeah same, jack shit. Wanna go riding somewhere for a few days?' 'Absolutely. Tassie?'
'Hell yeah, lets do it!' ....
I would like to announce I have made it through my first month riding safe and sound. With the help of some veteran riders, YouTube road craft series, plenty of reading and of course lurking these very forums for tips and advice. I have managed to make it through with no falls, bumps or drops to record. Just like most things in life theory can only do so much. So...
Just got my baby today (ninja 300) and boy what a ride. Haven't been on a manual bike for about a month when i did my L's test. Started with me trying to get out of my driveway which is on an incline. Pushing it up hill wasn't going so well so hopped on to try and ride it out. Only stalled once and narrowly avoided my car parked there but got...
As part of my final assignment in the Graduate Certificate of HIgher Education that I've been working on for the past couple of years, I have to create a one-hour online teaching session. Half of it is activities for the participants to work on in their own time and half of it a live online meeting.
I linked together a few bits and pieces, but made this video as an introduction. I'm dressed...
middo has kindly agreed to share his story with us all. Many thanks for participating and giving us a very enjoyable story.
Q. Aaah middo, have a seat. It is a pleasure to meet you at long last. How have you been? Whats news?
I'm pretty good at the moment. Very busy as usual, with family and work, but good. I haven't always been so positive, and had my share of the black dog following me, but...

My father and I are having bonding holiday(after losing my mum to cancer recently), we are going to tassie on my VFR800 and his XV1100. We plan on going in an anti clockwise direction from Devonport(Strahan first). We aren't making any rock solid commitments as to where we will stop each night, just see how the old man holds up during each day haha. i have read a few great...
Last Saturday I said goodbye to the Inazuma and picked up my new bike (it was raining of course!) ...a Suzuki SFV650. I am not calling it a Gladius because its a stupid name, as is Inazuma and Hayabusa...what's going on in the bike naming department at Suzuki and what are they smoking? Anyway, the Inazuma did its job admirably which was to see if I still enjoyed riding after...
I've bought a Kawasaki W650 from a friend for the princely sum of $4000. As if I didn't have enough grandpa bikes in the garage already. It blows no smoke, runs quite nicely and is all there - though it's in rough cosmetic condition. Matt never cleaned the bike in the 60,000km's he's had it. (All up it's got around 90,000km's on it). It's got quite high mileage but I'm not too fussed about...
This weekend just gone I've travelled at least 1000kms solo through the Gold Coast hinterland and northern NSW on my 2003 gsxr 600.
I love my bike, I've only had it a few months and I've returned to riding at 41 with a gusto bordering on obsession.
Actually, it's just obsession plain and simple.
I've got my suspension dialed in to a point that actually gives me a boner just thinking about...
I finally got around to doing my Advanced rider course the other week and I passed! For those in South Australia this is how the course works. There are 4 slow tests and 1 fast, you can lose a total of 10 points on each slow course and you can still pass if you lose 20 points. 1 mistake on each slow course = -5 points. Effectively you could totally skip 2 of the slow courses or ride right...
