My annual road trip starts in 8 days, 2500km of shear bliss.
I'll be leaving home next Thursday and riding to Lake Annecy in France, we'll be having two overnight hotels to break up the journey.
If anyones interested I'll keep this thread updated throughout the 10 days we're away.
Just for starters, this is where we're heading to.
A couple of you guys are keen to see this in progress so I will post a few updates on the progress. Not every minor step, only major steps.
My original plan was to buy a 675R (only an R) from the auctions in either a repairable write off or a stat write off state. Stat write off can include structural damage but not always. Up side to stat write off is they are a LOT cheaper than...
What a cracking day belting around Sandown with Ianinthebronx and Nucleatic , 150 K's on the track and all bar the 2 sighting laps and the last two in the second session when the heavens opened up, were ridden at full noise, nudging 200 on the front straight and 170 on the back and plenty of slipping and sliding in and out of the corners Big friggin grin all day!!!!!!!
The passing of Roadkill occurred today at Tractor 828. After being in the company of The Dirty Bubble, he/she/it got passed on to 69SIM and Sibi. Well the first thing that happened was the obligatory hand over shot (which I believe GeorgeO has).
It's been a while since I last rode this ride, so thought middle of winter would be the perfect time to revisit it! I left home at 0230, and as boring as it is to some (many), decided to shoot up the Hume for the start. The idea was to avoid roos, and I didn't see any on the Hume, but a small heard of Dear woke me up near the Nagambi turn off! Thankfully none moved onto the road as I went...
With classic styling and the underlying hoonism of the MT-09, the XSR900 really is a sweet machine. So sweet that by being a sneaky bugger I went and bought one on Tuesday with a few accessories and then picked it up today. Got one? Want one? This is the thread for you
Gave the test this Sunday on my own bike - Ninja 650. It was 15 mins on a closed course - exercises were:
1. Ride around in a large ellipse with 4 turns, on the straight between 1 set of turns there are 2 painted lines to indicate a tram/train track - bike must be upright while going over these. Bike should maintain 20kph minimum during the loops
2. Quick stop - after coming out of the turn,...
Thanks to all of your good advices and great support and the great guidance of panda scoot I've actually made it through my first big long ride today. I've only practiced during weekends (aside from two week nights which didn't go well as my headlight might as well not be there!) so even though I'm one month away...
Blogs have received a major rebuild, with all new features and functionality! The old blogs system ( think VT250 ) has been removed, and replaced with a brand new and all powerful blog system ( think S1000RR ). All existing blogs have been imported into the new blogs system.
b12mick has kindly agreed to share his story with us all. Many thanks for participating and giving us a very enjoyable story.
Q. Hey b12mick, thanks for sitting in the hot chair. We'll try not make it too tortuous for you
A. Cool. I hope this isn't too boring and rambling.
So, I own a Yamaha FZ1 second generation 2008 model.
It is well documented on various forums that Yamaha made a mess of the fuelling when they created the second generation in 2006.
They had improved it enormously by the time the 2008 came along but it was still far from perfect.
Stutters from take off if you use too few revs, surging at a constant speed on freeways etc. seems to be at its...
