The Suzuki DR650 has remained unchanged since 1996. A dinosaur in the adventure touring world, this single cylinder ‘thumper’ with carburetor, harks back to simpler times. With a dry weight of 147 kg and a budget price, it has become a legend among RTW adventurers.
The night was hot and muggy and all through the house, was the sound of my snoring, gawd it sounds grouse!
Then I woke up this morning and to my sheer surprise, the sun it was shining , not a cloud in the sky.
So threw on the herman munsters and Zeddee and I fanged up to Maccas at McGrath's. Met up with Andrew West , GeorgeO , DrSleepy , wby 1...
Here's the latest video from the Kangaroo Valley ride. It's a bit longer than I normally make them as it was a big day and I wanted more actual riding video in it, still only around the 7 minute mark. ENJOY!

found some great trails up at warnervale a few weeks ago and my 9 year old daughter is loving them and doing awesome. Last sat my mate and his 2 kids and myself and Emily were all sitting on our bikes ready to go, Aaron says to his dad,
" What do we do if we see the cops?".
Emily replies " hit the gas man "
I started laughing and thought that...

My son and I planned this for almost a year. Hired bikes. The BMW F800GT being the said set of two wheels. With panniers and top box plenty of space for everything but the esky, but hey NZ has plenty on offer. Left Christchurch this morning after having plenty of little...
Had my L's a month now, and my new R3 a couple of weeks. 275km on the clock and today I took on my first commute through the mean streets of Melbourne travelling from Cheltenham to Docklands.
On the way in - took Beach Road, which worked out pretty well. Door to door in about 45 minutes. Still a learner so strictly no lane splitting allowed...
Kim and John are hosting the Black Dog Ride for the Penrith group on the 20th of March.
The Grey Gum Cafe has many flags around the car park, and one is the Netrider flag. Although it has been there for some time, it has never been officially "raised", so I'm suggesting that as many Netriders as possible attend, to support the Black Dog Ride, and to raise the Netrider flag officially!!
I have done Day 1 of my Q-Ride today and will be doing Day 2 on Saturday.
It was so much fun! I loved every second of it. Manoeuvring the bike around was a lot easier than I thought although I certainly wasn't perfect. The biggest trouble for me was throttle and clutch control, I stalled quite a bit because I couldn't quite get where the grab...
A thorn in the side of Victorian motorcycling has announced his resignation as of this Friday, 5th February 2016.
Gordon Lewis has consistently failed to abide by his terms of reference by attacking motorcycling throughout his term in office. He will not be missed.
Well, after getting my L's end of last October I have been practicing, practicing, practicing!
Have been going well in traffic, had a couple of short night rides, and have been for a few longer (for me) rides with hubby.
He is still helping me heaps and giving me tips on riding, braking, gear changing, traffic etc, and still doing a good job of...

The 'Welcome Home' ritual begins early tomorrow, with a top-to-toe wash, adjustment of controls, chain clean and a naming ceremony. Then a gentle cruise with my daughter, who's almost as excited as me, about the new addition to the clan.
I've asked my family for name suggestions,...
Passed my license test roughly a week ago and have had my Honda CBR300R just sitting in my office's garage for over 2 weeks just waiting to be ridden. Weather in Sydney has been bad recently so I ended up riding it on Saturday night. This was literally my first ride after doing the course, never rode my bike prior to this so finding out the...
